No Reunion for ME!!

As one can probably tell I am from a small town. I went to a smaller high school than most. We had 150 or so people in our graduating class. Do y'all remember the days of senior pictures when you had to wear those feather wrap things? Or was it just us that did that?
I think back to how lucky I was to live in a small town and graduate when I did. I don't feel like we had ANY of the pressures that kids today face. Nobody seemed to care who had money and who didn't or what brand of clothes you wore or what car you drove. Good thing because I cruised around in black king cab truck from the old sonic hill to the mall like crazy on a Friday night. Wore cut off shorts and cowboy boots like a CHAMP!! Maybe I've just forgotten - but it seemed pretty Mayberry-ish to me.Did you go to high school in the early 90's? If so - then you might identify with having HUGE hair. We would hold our hair out on the sides and spray hair spray on it and then hold the blow dryer on it to keep it out. And my bangs could bounce concrete off them. We tight rolled our jeans and wore swatch watches and Esprit sweaters. We didn't have cell phones - I would have to call my parents from the pay phone inside the gym after ball games or from a friend's home phone. We didn't have internet or facebook or twitter or blogs. (I'm sort of glad - aren't you?) We learned to type on typewriters and used those for papers in school.
I found out this weekend that my high school class is having our 20th class reunion in a State park in a town next door to our home town. Part of the group is playing golf, some are hiking, who knows what the rest are doing. There is a dinner that night at our yucky Country club that is dated back to Miami Vice style. They are going to have the day catered and want us to pay $100 per family..ok really?? Then it is off to hang out in what they call "the alley" with 3 bars and look at the losers that are left in small town USA...in 2 whole weeks. They pretty much planned all this via the social media route. Although, I just received my formal invite in the mail this week. Nice real nice gives us plenty of time to make arrangements. YA THINK?? So needless to say I am skipping mine.. decided I have better things to do!! My dad and I are hitting Las Vegas wide open!!

I think it will be a much better time indeed... my daddy has never been to Vegas and well I need a break from a computer and a cell phone in a bad way. One never knows I am pretty good on a Blackjack table.. I may be able to come home work out my year as a millionaire and move on to the beach. You guys look for the beach party invites next Sept celebrating my 40th Millionaire Party rockin it out!! I mean really who cares about going to see a bunch of people who have been starving or pill pooping for weeks to get skinny and gonna lie about how great their life is for hours on end. Not I !!!! I had rather go drink and hang out by the pool and enjoy life. I graduated high school 20 years ago and moved away from po-dunk for a reason. Ahh those were great times... you guys have fun but I will think about you with my High school skinny self in Vegas baby!!

Look OUT Vegas here we COME!!!!.

5 Long Years = BLING

It has been 5 long years of marriage. Not because my Hubby is hard to put up with by no means but because we have had several tough challenges that god has given us that most marriages never even endure. We started out by being told we would NEVER have kids supported by my uterus completely collapsing. Followed by a high risk pregnancy.... of course I am the "HIDE AND WATCH ME" kind of person. We moved on with the on set of Bells Palsy at 35 weeks of pregnancy. Then even further to 37 weeks to finally see a healthily, gorgeous baby boy. Continuing along a complete year of pain in my face and onset of headaches to finally figure out on my child's first birthday I had a brain tumor. This was alot to take in all at once, as there was not much anyone could do due to the location. If touched I had 80% of being a vegetable the rest of my life or I could take a test medication and see if would work. Well wonder what I choose here?? We carried on for several weeks on eggshells crying and going thru the motions. Meanwhile, I went back to the doctor and the meds had actually shrunk the tumor GREAT news which means it isn't cancer. The day we got the news is the day guess what God gave us baby #2. Being the meds had made me so sick and I already felt so bad I had no idea I was even pregnant. Once I figured it out they had advised against keeping him but again "HIDE AND WATCH" A lady told me during this "God does things for a reason and he gives us babies as miracles to heal". I have never ever forgotten that and never will.... I had my little guy at 31 weeks premature and they rolled in that night and told me God was going to take him. He might not make it thru the night. Now that was alot to take in how do you loose a child? It was a long long road for my entire family and a month's stay in the NICU unit. Thank the lord above we all are healthy and fine now and all better for it I am sure... all that in 5 years time!!
So on my anniversary this year my hubby gave me a Champagne Diamond ring. I figure I almost checked out of here once and ya know I know some women wait 20,30, 40 years of marriage for a ring like this.... but hell I may not be here that long. So why not now and enjoy it until I do check out. You only live one so get to livin!! I love my new BLING !!! now each one of my boys will have one eventually someday and hell I have worked hard for this one :0)

Blue Cadillac

My best friend from back home just experienced the sudden loss of her father recently. It has been rough times for all of us. The most interesting story I have to tell you is not how strong my friend has been throughout the challenges. I have been amazed at her strength to get out of bed each day and merely carry on. Nor how awesome of a dad she had and how he fought for our country and was left for dead and survived and has been treated awful by our government for years.
The story goes like this ...my 4 year old little boy overheard parts of a story and came up with his own story. My best friends dad had buried his father not long ago prior to his own death. He had told his twin daughters that was the ugliest casket he had ever seen. He didn't want to be buried in any such thing. If he ever died he wanted to be buried in a green casket. He told them it reminded him of a green Cadillac. Guess he thought he was Hank Sr. or something going to heaven in a green Cadillac. :0)
Meanwhile, I had told my parents this story as well as mentioning to my own dad he needed to visit the local doctor himself. Due to his recent habit of smoking "Icky Sticks" has returned and he has an awful cough that mysteriously just isn't going to go away on its own. WELP little ears were listening to ALL of this and low and behold he processed it for several days. We returned home to Texas and here is what a 4 year old's little brain spit out. Early in the day on a phone conversation with my dad I went to hang up ending the call with "Bye Dad I love ya" normally we just call him PaPa so there is no confusion... my kiddo heard this and I got the questions... Mommy is that your daddy?
yes sir he is?
well George was Aunt Cole's daddy too Right?
Yes sir!
Does that mean PaPa is going to die too??
no Cooper that is not what that means... well mommy you told him he needed to go see the doctor and people see the doctor because they are sick...
Yes Cooper but PaPa need to go get a breathing machine like Luke had and Aunt Cole's daddy was sick and your PaPa isn't sick.
He seemed to be ok with all that and went on playing and never said anything else. We continued our fun filled day. Evening came and one would think all this was over but nope there is more ticking in little mans head... and it goes like this. Everyone was in bed I went to tuck the little guys in bed. My oldest ask me if I would lay down with him for just a few minutes. Well sure we can say our prayers. He prayed for all the sick, Aunt Cole's daddy..Aunt Cole & Nat not to be sad and mommy , daddy..Luke,Rylee,Olivia, Hunter, Hailey...the normal list we have every night. Then all of a sudden he says
Mommy, we are never ever going to have a Cadillac!!
Really buddy?
no mommy they are junk... it takes like 20 screws just to hold dos motors in
"hummmm Cooper that is interesting" I say
You know what else mommy they go super slow.. like turtle slow
wow I didn't know that Cooper.. but you know Cadillacs are REAL nice Coop everybody wants a Cadillac
no mommy if we eber have one it would be Blue they are the only good ones.. the rest are junk..for real.
hummm but Cooper Cadillacs are super duper Nice ya know have you ever sit in a Cadillac?
No way hosay neber eber mommy... we are never having one of those never eber only a Blue one.
Ok Coop go to sleep. So my kiddo thinks everyone goes to heaven in a Cadillac. He wants them to go slow and the motors to break down getting to Heaven. The motors only have 20 screws holding it in ya know? Quite the concept if I do say so myself...He knows my dad's favorite color is Blue because my dad is quite the jokester. He is always teasing him about taking his Piggy Bank money and buying a big blue truck.

I think it is amazing what his little brain pieced together and sadden at the same time that he worried his little brain with such complex things at such a young age. I will say I kinda like the idea myself, I mean we all have our time we have to check out of this world why not take our last ride in a convertible Cadillac drinking a cold one with the wind blowing thru our hair. One last slide sideways right into Heaven's gates. Wouldn't it be cool to pass each other in Heaven driving Cadillacs??

Shewww Lots and Lots!~

Well not sure where to start on my life update as I have been a work Hiatus I guess.. but I promise to get back to my blog as I love it so..I let a whole month pass me by but I will try to update you on some of the cool happenings. My little guy took us to Sea World as that is all he wanted for his birthday and we had so much fun!! Then I experienced my first NBA final playoff game or should I say games while in Dallas for almost 2 full weeks. I have to say never seen so many tall black men in my life....is that all that play Basketball? Just sayin..and man do they ever drive nice rides. WOW... I have several more interesting encounters but those are all separate posts to themselves.. stay tuned. LOL..

For now I am exhausted from traveling and still more to go and need some sleepy sleep while my loving parents have so graciously taken my kiddos for a complete month.
