Let it be Already....
I tell ya why is it that people can't just know and embrace history? We have a group protesting the name of a building on the college campus here in town. Really do you not have more than to worry about whose feelings might or might not get hurt or who would or would not be offended on a daily basis??
The hall, which was built to house male law students and graduate students, was named for William Stewart Simkins, who taught at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law from 1899 until his death in 1929. Simkins was well known for his ties to the Klu Klux Klan after the Civil War. So really the diversity council is going to change the name of a hall because he had ties to the Klu Klux Klan?? Does that make students not want to attend the university? They probably have no clue to be honest. Also in recent years, statues of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Cesar Chavez, Barbara Jordan and Earl Campbell have been erected in prominent locations on campus. Is this not enough for diversity?? I just don't get it and it somewhat makes the hairs on my arm raise. For god's sake it is history it has made us who we are today. That is like me saying I am not going to drive down Martin Luther King Blvd. because he was a black man. Well truth be he is a huge part of history he had a opinion and he voiced it. So be it!~
I am well aware that times have changed ALOT but I still think it is awful that these people get on these bandwagons and slowly take pieces of our history away piece by piece by piece...and we sit and allow it! Like Tom & Jerry cartoons the picaninny was removed and a huge speech by our friend Whoopie Goldberg prior to the cartoon (previous blog post), some of the history pieces have been changed in our schools or better yet just left out, now we are changing names of buildings too. Maybe it would make our kids be more educated to have to look the guy up and know why it was named that to begin with not to mention my 3 year old child turned to me before his cartoon started and asked "what is a picaninny?" ...not sure he would have even noticed had our wonderful friend Whoopie not brought to the whole world's attention. Come on people it is our history quit taking it so personal and embrace it. Good or bad, it is what it is and you are NOT going to change the past my friend...

Happy Birthday Daddy!~
This was soooo flippen cute.. Cooper picked this cake out himself. He was having nothing to do with anything else but this one. No ice cream cake, no Toy Story 3 (after seeing the movie on Friday) cupcakes...nothing not having it. He wanted this cookie cake with a bright orange pile of icing in the middle for some reason he thought they were flames and he thought it was super cool. "daddy gonna Wub it Mommy" and that he did... it was a great birthday/fathers day weekend. Cooper blew the suprise gift so daddy got it a week early and well mommy thought it was a good thing cause it was for the whole family. ahhh I love those gifts ;-0 Cooper picked it out all by himself ...it was one of the new Logitech remote controls so we are now down to just one remote not 6 to turn on a dern TV. Thanks Cooper what a genius idea from a 3 year old !!

Crawling around in circles

Do you ever feel like you are crawling around in circles? This past week I had my oldest home due to sickness with the typical fever, headache junk that is going around. My oldest is never sick I can still count on one hand in 3 years how many times the little guy has been sick. Then whammie number 2 hit on Friday night 104 fever with baby #2 needless to say it was quite the eventful night at the ER and then home for an all night crying concert. Then back the next morning for follow up x-rays...yep Pneumonia got us. I think after this visit to the walk in clinic I have come to the conclusion they should just fire the "so called" doctors the have in those places and let mommies have part time jobs. I am positive they can do as well if not a better job than those that went to school forever that are currently staffed. As I looked around the place was full of sick kids. After going back to the room and going thru the motions breathing treatment, x-rays, oxygen levels..I already knew the routine. I am amazed at how those doctors work to cover their asses more than they tend to take care of the patients. After an all night visit you would think they had it figured out but yet still requested us to come back first thing in the AM to follow up with another shot. Only to get there and guess what they just wanted to look at him to check to see if he was better.WTH are you kidding me?? I know if my kid is better or worse I could have made that call all on my own to take him back or not..don't LIE and tell us we are coming back for a shot that you can't actually give but every 24 hours any damn way. Yap as you guessed it this mommy lost it right after the nurse told me she could tell we had been up all night...to that I responded with: it isn't because of a sick kid and being up all night that I am acting this way (like a full blown Bitch) it is due to you and your fellow staff and your incompetency to do your job. So yeah they assigned us another nurse.
Needless to say I will not be going back to that location my kids will go straight to the emergency room I hate to take up those doctors time in the ER as it isn't a REAL emergency but at least in the past they have always done something to make that baby better. Maybe it is just the particular walk in clinic that we go to or maybe all you other mommies out there have the same issues..and isn't it somewhat of a real nightmare that with Obama getting involved in this health care it is going to get even worse than this? Either way, I am so put out with them and soo tired I could collapse in this endless circle. Ahhh to a better week :0)

Awww Heck Yeah I see it..
My oldest son has been working on potty training for some time now and have the whole Poopen in da potty out of the way. Not at any fault of his own that mommy had a little set back in the middle of the first go around. So now we are full force and headed straight for the sprinkler bug party. I told him several months ago that if he could pee pee in the potty all the time he would get this 15 dollar wonderful sprinkler. As usual he has been very NOT INTERESTED.
I know mommies who have given Sea World trips out for all this training. SOoo I figured a water party in the backyard seemed WAY more reasonable. Last night was a total victory he went all day and night with NO accidents! Yeah you read it right thru the night too. Why not do it all at once?? so we are all doing the Pee Pee Dance at our house... and so excited but we still haven't busted out the bug sprinkler just yet.. there has to be some sort of consistency here. :0)
