HillBilly Handfishin
Here is our catfish .. doesn't look like it would be that hard right??

My oldest has been hung up on this new show Hillbilly Handfishin and we are all goin... want to join us?? the idea is you get yourself in a creek stick your hand under a rock and wait on the cat fish to bite your hand and then someone strings hims for ya. In Oklahoma where they film this show they call it "noodling". We took the kids to a "resort" ,as my oldest says, for the holiday weekend. Walaaa guess what they had... yep you guessed it a catfish pond. We sat out there and watched them and watched them.... and watched them. I also got tickled at my son leaned back crossing his arms and looked so much like my dad when another kid would walk up. He would start conversation with "I am going Hillbilly Handfishin.... know what that is??" " My PaPa is going to go too but he is scared... " I'm not scared.. I am going to catch one that is 50 hundred pounds"

WAY too close
As we pull back into town this is the sight we see...fires have broken out all over Austin. How scary? My husband begins to then find out his side of the family has been evacuated and affected by the fires. 2500 acres have now gone up in flames and it is still not under control. Several other fires have broken out around town. Some set by carelessness and then of course some set by kids having no idea what the implications would be . It got our family to thinking what exactly would you take if you really had to pack and leave...so we actually did the fire drill. Call me CRaZZZyyyy (as my little boy says) but heck you never know. So here is what we have a fire safe packed with passports, my original wedding bands, my moms rings, my pearls, old pictures, I copied all of my photos and music off of both computers and bought 2 hard drives and they are now in there. I also have back up money in there just in case. I put wedding license, insurance papers, wills, my hubby's release papers from the military and all the other basic junk.My hubby and I talked if we get a chance to go back in for anything I want my wedding dress and the box of my kids baby clothes. I am actually thinking hard about buying another fire safe to put those items in... it isn't alot but for sure things you will never ever be able to replace. I just know as I am now older I have really appreciated the fact that my mother is a pack rat and saved all that stuff from when my brother and I were kiddos.
I feel so bad for the families that have lost everything and have to start all over from scratch. I am sure words can't describe what they are enduring. It is amazing that with all the acreage that has burnt only 5 lives have been lost. Godspeed to them all.

Oh My My
Check this out! I borrowed a few lines that most generally post every single day onto a Social Media called Facebook. Most all of us hate so much drama and deal with on a daily basis. A fellow blogger that I enjoy following called Texas Darlings had a interesting post about how funny Facebook is. The majority of her post about Facebook the world has said it a million times over out loud she is NOT the first, the rest of her post was quotes from Facebook. Therefore, not completely her own words furthermore falls no where near a copyright infringement. I re posted some of it and changed some of it as it applied to myself and deleted some of it adding my own words. Thinking no big deal I don't have 181 official followers like herself. I post only for my family and close friends who don't even blog any way a good way to pass along right? Well maybe not... seems as though imitation is NOT the truest form of flattery in this case. She was totally 100% offended went off about how she was violated as though she had been raped by some stranger. Got her whole posse of bloggers together to post with her and jump onto my blog and post comments. I became UN-Christian god doesn't like Christians. After all I stole her words... Blah Blah Blah... they all threw stones went on and on. How dare me I owed Becca an apology.. and I had a blog for 2 plus years and no comments, how nothing on my blog was ever the truth, etc. I felt like I was attacked by the local toddlers and tiaras of Texas or something. I am totally taken a back by such behavior by grown adults CLAIMING to be adults and judging some one they don't even know. I never meant to ruffle such feathers I thought the blog was funny and felt the same identical way.... it goes like this you win some you loose some either way it was funny and I enjoyed it . I did remove it from my blog as she requested. You should all visit her blog she does write very well and is very witty and funny regardless if she is touchy about being complimented. Something about these Texans I have yet to figure out... To each their own where we are from Girls you know what we say.... God Bless 'em... and Bless their Hearts !

Friday Day Dreaming
I have to say I was so so excited when I saw this posted on a friends blog. I had to share and post my own... I tend to do this day dreaming thing alot these days. Here is one that I love to daydream about that takes me back to such a great week..
A wonderful week with my wonderful new husband in a small town outside of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for our Honeymoon. We had no real plans which is not normal for me and had gone into town for the day to walk around. Decided to take a seat have a beer under a straw roof at a bar called Tortuga. Sun was shining and all of a sudden it was pouring rain we both looked up and these gorgeous flowers that were across from us just draping down. I have since remembered that day just by this one picture as we sat and shared the dreams we had in store for our new life together. At that point in life we were told we would never have kids and wondered if whoever "they" were was right. It was crazy the way God just all of a sudden laughed (sunshine) and cried (rain) with us all in the same day it was great. We both cherish this picture and I daydream about it often. Funny how things take you back to that moment in time. We now have two very dear blessings of children and I so say god was there with us that day and heard us talking. I call them God Whispers and I think he was "whispering" in his own way when the rain started.. call me crazy but I have ALOT of faith. I love to daydream and I will go back to these flowers and I will cut some trimmings off this time to bring home to share with my dear little blessings and enjoy every single day of waking up and looking at these beautiful flowers. Godspeed and bless you all!!
